PUBLIC SECURITY OPERATORS AND PENITENTIARY POLICE OFFICERS

The course aims to provide operators of public security and penitentiary police officers with the analytical and operational tools necessary for an effective and inclusive action in multicultural and multireligious societies and within structures increasingly characterized by the visibility of religious identities, especially Islamic character.
The course aims to provide public security operators and prison officers with the analytical and operational tools necessary for an effective and inclusive action in multicultural and multireligious societies and within structures increasingly characterized by the visibility of religious identities, especially of Islamic character. The course will be delivered in the quarter May-July 2019.

The topics covered will be the following: the relationship between religious identity and security; “religious profiling” and public security; religious needs, the right to religious freedom and security; the issue of prevention and management of radicalization, at local level and in prisons; the role of religious communities in the prevention and management of radicalization and, more generally, of religiously motivated social tensions.
