LEADERSHIP

PriMED involves a network composed of twelve Italian universities and ten universities of OCI- Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries, involving through academic and student mobility, professors from Italy and OCI countries, in order to strengthen the role of Italian universities in the context of international research and promotion of Italian higher education.
The project leader is The University of Eastern Piedmont “Amedeo Avogadro” (also known as UPO) is an Italian state university founded in 1998. Its structure is tripolar, as the teaching activities are divided between the cities of Alessandria, Novara and Vercelli. Some educational activities are also offered in Alba, Asti, Biella, Fossano, Tortona and Verbania. The UPO has now reached an excellent position in the national ranking of universities; the collaboration with the local communities has been decisive, in which it has become a point of reference for scientific production, technology transfer, teaching and cultural debate.
